Sirolo

 

Beautiful medieval town nestled among the green of the mountain and the blue sea, Sirolo is considered "the pearl of the Adriatic Coast": a precious treasure chest of art set in a breathtaking landscape. The scenery is that of the Conero Riviera, at the foot of a mountain that rises suddenly above the sea, with white pebble beaches and light blue sea.

The Village

The natural beauties of Sirolo integrate admirably with the medieval architecture that instead characterizes the historical center. Once indeed Sirolo was a real fortified castle and still walk to the center is like sneaking into a maze of alleys called "vigoli", passable only on foot through nooks and corners of great impact.

The Main Square

The square of Sirolo, in addition to offering a unique panorama over the entire Conero Riviera, is one of the most romantic location of the Riviera del Conero. During summer evenings it becomes the meeting point for an ice cream with friends or a cocktail and a chat.

In Sirolo there is an air of culture: you can watch a show at the "Teatro Cortesi" or, for the summer season, in the picturesque location of the outdoor theater "The Cave", dug within the ancient stone quarries pink Conero .

Sirolo rooted in distant prehistory, a time when it developed the Piceno civilization, today testified by the remains preserved in the archaeological area "I Pini", in the outskirts of Sirolo, just before the village of Coppo. 

Beaches

Sirolo beaches winding up under the Monte Conero with a sequence of environments among the most evocative of the Adriatic coast. The clear waters and beaches of rare beauty offer an exciting welcome. 
For awards Legambiente (4 Sails), the Touring Club and the acquisition of the European Blue Flag, Sirolo ranks among the top places in Italy recognized for excellence in the protection of the natural environment and for having one of the most crystalline and transparent Adriatic seas.
From the north beach of the Gulls, then the Cave of Slaves, deep cavity at the time most 'of 60 meters then collapsed, from here you get to the two best-known rocks in the Conero Riviera, the rocks of the Two Sisters, accessible from the sea or by steep paths that go up the Conero up to the Passo del Lupo (currently closed for security reasons).
The beach of the Two Sisters is interrupted by layered rocks so called "Books" for the characteristic shape of a book page. After the lower strut of the Two Sisters, The jetty starts, a pier that was used for the mooring of vessels, from here begins a stretch of coastline called Sassi Neri for the black color of the stones.
The coast continues with the San Michele beach equipped with bathing, then it stops with a cliff landslide from there begins the beach Urbani semicircular. From Cave Urbani, start "Lavi",smooth and spectacular rocks overlooking the sea.

Urbani beach

Beautiful crescent-shaped beach, of fine gravel it begins on the south by the cliff's natural Grotta Urbani. Nell'arenile there are several beach resorts and restaurants; bounded by a cave and a high cliff, lies north and the rocky outcrop below the Camping International. If the sea is calm you can pass on the shore and reach the beach of San Michele. The beach is protected by a barrier of rocks.


Two Sisters beach

The beautiful beach of the Two Sisters of Sirolo is really a lovely place. Not affected by man, it is famous for its white cliffs and presents a look really pristine and wild, where nature reigns supreme and is the absolute star. The Beach of the Two Sisters of Sirolo is really ideal for those who love scuba diving, as the sea is beautiful, clear, calm, with sloping seabed.


The Regional Park of Mount Conero

Environmental oasis born around Monte Conero: 572 meters of luxurious Mediterranean maquis overlooking the sea. Established in 1987, the Park is a protected area where you can walk in the 18 trails that wind through the woods, alone or accompanied by experienced guides, observe the transit of migratory birds such as peregrine falcons and owls, visit precious historical and artistic treasures, such as the Watchtower and the Romanesque church of Santa Maria in the Bay of Portonovo. There are numerous wineries and farm where you can taste and buy the precious Rosso Conero and the best products of the land (honey, olive oil, legumes, etc.).
